Mavela Game Lodge is located within BIG 5 Manyoni Private Game Reserve in the north of KwaZulu-Natal. The area falls within the Mkuze Valley Lowveld vegetation type, varying from open Savanna thornveld to riverine woodland, characterized by Acacias and Marula tree species. The reserve is home to over 70 mammal species, including cheetah, wild dog, hyena and of course the BIG 5. It also offers superb birding.
