MfulaWozi Wilderness
mFulaWozi Wilderness
Mthembu Lodge lies low on an embankment of the White iMfolozi River and allows you to get up close and personal with the bush. Seated on your private deck, you can watch different bird species fluttering through the thickets in front of you, and spot some larger animals drinking at the river. There is no shortage of wildlife here.
Each private villa was hand-built by members of the local Mthembu clan. Each stone set in place and the floors lovingly smoothed over by hand. The building of Mthembu Lodge was the first phase of skills upliftment mFuloWozi Big Five brought to the community.
When you step inside each luxurious villa, you are immediately pulled into the MFuloWozi Wilderness through the floor to ceiling glass doors featured in each space of the villa.
From the lounge to the bedroom, to the bathroom – you have continuous views of the bush and river and access to your private deck.
Mthembu Lodge is intimate with only 7 private villas that sleep two, and 2 two-bedroom family villas that sleep up to two adults and 3 children.
Biyela Lodge is a testament to the modern safari lifestyle. It is tiered on a descending cliff overlooking an oxbow lagoon in the White iMfolozi River. The lodge is home to 12 private villas. Biyela’s clean, minimalist theme provides the perfect contrast to the ever-green Zululand bushveld.
Each private villa comes equipped with a modern lounge area and its own balcony. The balcony is the ideal place to view the wildlife that roams the thicket below. Elephant, buffalo, baboons, crocodiles, hippos and wild dogs can all be spotted frequently. Biyela’s middle chalets flank the main lodge and encompass a wide-angle view of the bushveld, river, cliffs and the beautiful façade of private villas cupping the oxbow lagoon. Some of the villas are situated lower on the embankment, providing more privacy and views of the river.
The restaurant and various lounges all lead onto a balcony with a fire pit and rim-flow pool. Our secluded Africology Spa is equipped with two treatment rooms, ideal for a peaceful revival of mind and body. Whether you experience the wonder of the wild from the lodge or on a game drive in the greater Hluhluwe mFulaWozi Big Five Reserve, you can rest assured that your experience at Biyela Lodge will be an exclusive one.
